Assistant Minister, Director of Finance & Operations

Rev. Debbie McDonnell

Rev. Debbie McDonnell’s joy is teaching and introducing others to the Power that is available to us all. She is an outgoing, energetic, creative presence with strengths in collaborative leadership. A dynamic speaker and a welcoming presence, she is grounded in the principles of Science of Mind. Passionate about the SOM teachings, she knows they are the framework to creating a world that works for everyone.

A third-generation Californian who grew up in Anaheim, CA, she comes from a large Italian family and is the second oldest of 12 children. In her “past lives” Rev. Debbie has worked in visual merchandising, pursued a career in acting, became a massage therapist and is a licensed Kaizen Muse Creativity Coach. She has been an active member of a 12-Step Recovery program since 1988 when she started her spiritual journey. For several years she has worked with young adults and those recovering from addiction.

“A long-time student of metaphysics with an unquenchable thirst for spiritual truth,” she was introduced to New Thought teachings in 1990 shortly after beginning a spiritual journey that continues today. In 2005 she became a Licensed Religious Science Practitioner, and then continued ministerial studies at the Holmes Institute School of Spiritual Leadership, graduating in June 2014. In 2016 she became the Senior Minister at Monterey Center for Spiritual Living. Currently she is the Assistant Minister and Director of Operations and Finance at Seaside.

She is a mom to two conscious children. Her daughter, Brianna, owns an LA-based production company and her son, Sean, is a professional basketball player in Europe. Both her children are avid fashion bloggers and personal empowerment mentors.

If you know Rev. Debbie, you know that she is a creative soul that loves to create beauty in all forms, whether on canvas, in her home, in her garden or in supporting people’s spiritual journey in remembering they are infinite and spectacular.
